Special Collections in Japanese University Libraries
November 0001 - November 0001
The main purpose of this project is to create a bilingual (German-Japanese) annotated bibliography about special collections (tokushu korekushon or bunko) kept at Japanese universities. This will be achieved based on a survey submitted to 627 Japanese university libraries. Such a reference work is not only for the German-speaking academia in Japanese studies a much-needed desideratum, but also in Japan. A German entry and a Japanese entry is regarded as one whole entity. Much importance will be attached to a coordinated and complete bilingualism of the indices.
