Managing Personal and Institutional Relationships Across Cultures 『異文化間の人材および組織関係の管理方法』International Workshop

8. Juni 2006

In spite of the increasing popularity of multinational teams, cross-border mergers & acquisitions, international collaborative ventures, etc., managers express a high level of dissatisfaction with them. Over-emphasis on structural features and their outcome has led to a neglect of the social processes underlying them. This workshop therefore elaborates upon the rationale for establishing working relationships across cultures and developing them successfully over time. Among other elements trust, distrust and reputation and their cultural embeddedness will be examined as key concepts in this context. In addition it will be emphasized how they interlink in dynamic processes and with enforcement mechanisms, and how they affect institutional arrangements.
