Japan and China: Economic Relations in Transition (Japan und China: Wirtschaftsbeziehungen im Übergang)
18. Januar - 19. Januar 2001
The Sino-Japanese relationship is one of the most important in East Asia today. Marked by conflict in the early post-war era, over the past three decades the bilateral relationship has grown through cooperation and competition. This conference focuses on the changes in the Sino-Japanese economic relationship. It will bring together knowledgeable researchers and practitioners to address four major issues. First, China’s growing linkages with Japan and its integration into the world economy. Second, China’s options and risks for industrial restructuring and transformation. Third, the role of Japanese and other foreign companies in the Chinese market. Fourth, deepening economic ties between China and Japan.
